We lost the product key for my micros. office 09 for mac software before it was installed. Can I recover it?

I was given microsoft office (home & student) 2009 for mac from a friend who never loaded the software, however they lost the product key. Is there any way I can find the product key and load the software properly? Any help would be great! Thanks!

    If you have the original disk, sometimes MS will give you a key if you send proof (ie a scanned picture of the disk). Call MS and ask.
